Many superheroes have sidekicks. John the Baptist knew this was his relationship to Jesus. His attitude was that, He must become greater & greater, & I must become less & less (John 3:30). Make it a point this Advent Season to focus less on people’s opinion of you & more on what others think of Jesus. In doing so you will learn a great deal about worship.
When have you acted in a specific way because you
wanted others to think more highly of Jesus?
How might your December hospitality plans change if
you focused less on people’s opinion of you & more
on what others think of Jesus?
In what ways would the attitude of John the Baptist
(Christ must increase & I must decrease) affect
your Christmas giving?
List other men & women in the Bible who demonstrated the same attitude as John the Baptist.
How did they live out this attitude?
If worship means to attribute worth to God, why
should this change in thinking improve your
worship?
