Many superheroes have sidekicks. John the Baptist knew this was his relationship to Jesus. His attitude was that, He must become greater & greater, & I must become less & less (John 3:30). Make it a point this Advent Season to focus less on people’s opinion of you & more on what others think of Jesus. In doing so you will learn a great deal about worship.
When have you acted in a specific way because you
wanted others to think more highly of Jesus? How might your December hospitality plans change if
you focused less on people’s opinion of you & moreon what others think of Jesus? In what ways would the attitude of John the Baptist
(Christ must increase & I must decrease) affectyour Christmas giving? List other men & women in the Bible who demonstrated the same attitude as John the Baptist.
How did they live out this attitude? If worship means to attribute worth to God, why
