What Does the Future Hold?
I Thessalonians 4:13-14

Everyone tends to be curious & interested in future events.  Why do you think
this is true?

Where do people usually turn to find out about the future?

Should Christians be interested in endtimes events?  Why or why not?

What difference does it make whether or not we know about endtime events?

Read John 14:1-3.  What circumstances brought about these words of comfort
from Jesus?  Where & when does Jesus say this & how does that context
help us to understand His words?

Why does Jesus link our present peace of mind to His promises about future
events?

Notice how many times Jesus uses the personal pronoun I.  How are these
promises linked to what Christ Himself will accomplish?

Why is His credibility important to our present peace of mind & expectations
for the future?

Notice how many times Jesus uses the word you to personalize His promises.
To what extent do you experience this peace that He has promised?

Have you embraced these words of promise in your own heart?  If not, will
you now?

In what ways is Christ the key to the future?

Daniel 7:13-14~

Matthew 24:30-31~

Matthew 25:31-34~

What do these passages teach about the Rapture?

John 14:1-3~

I Corinthians 15:50-58~

What is the next event in God’s program?  Can you back your answer up
biblically?

The Bible never gives a sign of the Rapture but instead instructs us to be looking for His (Christ's) coming.  We are never encouraged to look for the day of the Lord.  We are never encouraged to look for the Antichrist or any of the other events that lead up to the Second Coming.  The Rapture is pictured as the next major event that will take us from earth to heaven...There are signs for the Second Coming, but none for the Rapture.
