Love of the Brethren
I Thessalonians 4:9-10

Why didn’t Paul need to write to the Thessalonians about brotherly love?  

Yet what does he urge them?

What is it about brotherly love that would prompt Paul to first pray for (I
Thessalonians 3:11-12) & then to urge the church at Thessalonica to
increase in this virtue?

How did the Thessalonian believers learn to love one another (verse 9)?

Who do the Thessalonians love (verse 9)?

In what does Paul urge the Thessalonians to increase more & more (vss. 9-10)?

Read John 13:34-35 & 17:20-21.  What importance does Jesus place on love
among believers?

Hebrews 13:1-19 describes some of the activities that loving the brethren
involve.  What are they?

Did the Thessalonian Christians excel still more in brotherly love (2 Thessalonians 1:3)?

brotherly love.  Now list 3 or 4 Christians you know for whom you feel little or
no love.  How are you going to fulfill the biblical command by expressing your
love to those in the second group?
